FUTURE TENSES FUN WITH GENIALLY!

In our first-year ESO class, students crafted engaging presentations using Genially to explore future tenses. This interactive activity fostered creativity and language skills while integrating technology seamlessly into our learning experience.

Mini-Project Plan: Exploring Future Tenses

Stage 1: Introduction and Topic Selection

  • Introduce the concept of future tenses to students.
  • Discuss the importance of understanding and using future tenses in English.
  • Brainstorm potential project topics related to future tenses, such as predicting future trends, planning future activities, or discussing future goals.
  • Students choose their project topics and establish groups of 2-3 members based on shared interests or preferences.

Stage 2: Research and Content Creation

  • Provide resources for students to research their chosen topics, including textbooks, online articles, and grammar guides.
  • Instruct students to gather information and examples of future tenses relevant to their topics.
  • Guide students in creating content for their Genially presentations, including text, images, and multimedia elements.
  • Encourage students to incorporate interactive features into their presentations to engage their audience.

Stage 3: Practice and Presentation

  • Allocate time for students to practice delivering their presentations.
  • Provide feedback and guidance on presentation skills, including speaking fluency, pronunciation, and body language.
  • Schedule a presentation day where each group will present their Genially project to the class.
  • Record video or audio of student presentations for later review and assessment.

Stage 4: Reflection and Feedback

  • Facilitate a post-presentation discussion where students reflect on their experience creating and presenting their Genially projects.
  • Encourage students to provide feedback to their peers on presentation content and delivery.
  • Reflect on the overall learning experience and identify areas for improvement or future projects.

Grouping and Timings Decisions:

  • Grouping decisions were made based on students' interests, strengths, and preferences to ensure effective collaboration and project engagement.
  • Timings of the project were determined by considering the scope of the topic, available class time, and the need for thorough research and preparation.

Additional Materials:

  • Handouts: Grammar guides on future tenses, project rubrics for assessment criteria.
